‘Unity: Strength and Breath’ is a sculpture located at West Garden Plaza of Hato International Airport. It was placed at on November 22nd, 2006 at this square in front of the terraces of the airport, facing the new building. This artpiece on a public site is a gift by the law office ‘Advocatenkantoor VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne’ to the local community.
The sculpture is made of a typical local stone with a heterogeneous structure and shows 4 figures holding each other. The holes in the stone structure symbolize air and breath. The four figures holding each other represent unity and strength.
By special request of the artist the sculpture was placed facing the new airport building. Thus emphasizing the symbolism of unification.
