Landhuis Bloemhof conmemorates the 50th anniversary of the
May 30, 1969 uprising with an art project titled

A multi disciplinary art project consisting of a visual art exhibition; a debate ‘Bridging the information gap about May 30, 1969’; a cultural evening with performances, music and theater; and an open invitation to the public to join us in creating the Walk of Dreams for Curacao.

Saturday, July 6th Bloemhof will kick-off this project with the opening of the visual art exhibition Renobashon, at 10 AM at Landhuis Bloemhof.

About the project
In the beginning of 1969 the Curacao Chamber of Commerce invited an American consultancy firm to promote the start, growth and development of small enterprises. After the May uprising it was very clear that all sectors of society should be included in these conversations and hereto the Renobashon Foundation was formed. The foundation used Landhuis Bloemhof as a meeting place.

From ‘Social Intervention in Curacao: A Case Study’ in which social scientists summarized and studied the Renobashon process in the seventies Landhuis Bloemhof quotes:

Leaders of different island fractions had surprising similar visions of Curacao future, but they were generally unaware of their shared dreams.

Landhuis Bloemhof presented this quote to artists of different disciplines, for their contribution to art project Renobashon, taking the work of the Renobashon Foundation as their source of inspiration.
