IBB Workshop by Bart & Klaar
Dutch artists Bart Stuart and Klaar van der Lippe are conducting a public workshop
Public Space
from 5th till the 9th of October 2015,
at Instituto Buena Bista (IBB)
The artists Bart & Klaar use the public space as their working space. They have extensive experience working in the Netherlands and abroad, particularly in Central and South America. Working with people is very essential for them. They believe in dialogue and dialogue turned into action.
Topic of the workshop is “Our Place” dealing with sharing and appropriation of public spaces. Being together is essential for working and speaking together. How can public space contribute to a community?
Although there is much talk about nos Kòrsou (our Curaçao) there are few places where you can actually experience communality. What do we share in Curaçao? And what would we rather not? What is the best place or way to come together? What is your we and how do you find a place for it?
The afternoons begin and end with a common part. In between, under the guidance of Bart & Klaar you will work together in smaller groups, exploring, designing and learning from each other.
The program of the workshop is both theoretical and practical. Knowledge is applied immediately.
It is possible to sign up for a single day or the whole workshop. All participants are however expected on Monday the 5th to attend the introduction.
Dates: October 5 – 9, 2015.
