Suzet Rosaria’s students
Visual artist Suzet Rosaria also teaches at the highschool Maria Immaculata Lyceum (MIL) in Curaçao. The pieces made by her students in their final year are exhibited for three days in two of the old vaults of the historical Rif fort in Willemstad. Minister of Education, Culture and Sport Mrs. Rubia Bitorina will open the exhition Showcase this evening at 7 PM .
Raywearth Cardoze (20 years) and Euvania Chatlein (17 years), both in 6VWO, are two of her students participating in this exhibition. Each one made a costume based on an existing theatrical play.
Euvania Chatlein costume carries the title ‘Fantasia di Koló’. The bright colors express the positive aspects of life, while black stands for the negative parts. By elaborating more on the positive side, with bright colors in the dress and make-up, Euvania costume has a clear message. The young student explains: ‘If we want to progress we mustn’t stress on the negative aspects but rather focus ourselves on everything that makes live positive.’
