Meet & Greet with Willem de Bode on April 12, 2014 in Landhuis Bloemhof at 10:30 a.m.
Information by Landhuis Bloemhof:
Willem de Bode was born in Wassenaar, the Netherlands, and has been living in Curaçao for the past 33 years. His preference for black and white photography is very personal. He finds that the essence of what is being photographed remains pure, without the distraction of color. Contrasts, textures and patterns become more important and as a result one sees things in a new light.
Without Color is the first solo exhibition of Willem de Bode. The opening words will be spoken by Mr. Henri Pieters Kwiers, former photography teacher of Willem de Bode at the Akademia di Arte.
Come by and experience Curaçao’s landscapes and architecture in silence, serenity and… without color.

Photo contest Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam 2014

The winning photographs were announced at the opening of the film festival on April 2, 2014. De Bode’s prize winning photograph ‘The Big One’ has been added to the exhibition in Landhuis Bloemhof. The title ‘The Big One’ refers to the popular carnival parade in Curaçao, the big event of the year.
