7:30 – 9 PM
Opening words by dr. Zanolino.
Whenever Mrs. Lusette Verboom-Fairbairn, owner of Gallery Alma Blou, visits the studio of Philippe Zanolino, he surprises her again with new, old work. His place is full of magic, and his work is fresh and timeless. Zanolino feels that his artistic expression is an inspiration from above. His art is especially popular with collectors.
In the nineties, Zanolino intended to do an exhibition in his native country, France, and hereto made a special collection of artworks. Due to circumstances, the exhibition never happened. He recently got all the boxes full of artworks back and has now decided to share them with the audience in Curacao.
Philippe Zanolino has been trained as a medical doctor. Only when he was doing his internship in France, he discovered that being a doctor was not what he wanted for his life. Of course, this disappointed his parents immensely, but they allowed him to follow his heart and become an artist.
At first, his paintings were very realistic, but over the years, Philippe embraced the abstract way of working. He never knows where his intuition will take him when he starts working. This brings lots of magic to his work. Looking closely, you will find faces, animals, and other magical revelations in his work.
The exhibitions remained till December 8, 2018.
