About the artist
Anton Vrede, born in Curaçao and now living in the Netherlands, returns to Curaçao with a fresh visual style. Rooted in his sumi-e black-and-white ink drawings, his work explores how maximum expression can emerge from minimal means.
For this exhibition, Anton Vrede has created new work in Curaçao, including monumental wooden sculptures, complemented by works on rag paper. Installed in the Master Hall (Meester Zaal), the exhibition is conceived as an open, minimal setting, allowing the forms to connect with one another and with the public.
