
Tropisch Koninkrijk – Tropical Kingdom

The exhibition Tropisch Koninkrijk (Tropical Kingdom) in Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle, the Netherlands, commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Dutch Kingdom.
It is an extensive overview of the contemporary art of Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba. With 20 participating artists, Museum de Fundatie will present a large variaty of artworks ranging from traditional paintings to modern installations.
The exihibition is curated by Maarten de Jager, arthistorian and publicist. He selected the following artists: David Bade, Herman van Bergen, René Emil Bergsma, Ruben La Cruz, Yubi Kirindongo, Tirzo Martha, Felix de Rooy & Kirk Claes, Evelien Sipkes, Ellen Spijkstra (Curaçao); Ciro Abath, Stan Kuiperi, Elvis Lopez, Osaira Muyale en Ryan Oduber (Aruba); Nochi Coffee and Winfred Dania (Bonaire); Ras Mosera (St. Maarten); Magumbo Muntu (St. Eustatius); Heleen Cornet and Glenda Heyliger (Saba).
Tropisch Koninkrijk (Tropical Kingdom) is the first large overview in the Netherlands of the contemporary art of the 6 Caribbean islands of the Dutch Kingdom.
