Meeting myself…Again

For twenty years, the paintings of visual artist Robert van Haren remained packed and untouched in his depot. Two decades after, only part of this collection was displayed at the Curaçao Museum; these works will be exhibited at Landhuis Bloemhof.

With this exhibition, the artist embarked on a learning process and journey of discovery within himself and his work from that time. Times have changed. Or rather … continued. What does that mean for the pieces he made? Is the passion still there? Have these works retained the emotions he put in? What has time done for them? And what will this encounter mean for the continuation of Robert’s artistry? How will he continue?
This is the process that Robert is starting with this exhibition. The artist will literally meet himself again and invites the visitors of this exhibition to think along with him and share their interpretations.

In addition to his passion for art, Robert van Haren has mainly been professionally active in the offshore banking and trust sector in Curaçao. His career has left him little or no room to focus on his painting or ceramic art in recent years. That has now changed.

Meeting myself … Again remains till May 25, 2019.
