UniArte wants to encourage contemporary local artists to exhibit their works. UniArte also wishes to stimulate group exhibitions in a fresh and challenging way. By doing this UniArte is consciously pushing towards a ‘vivid and progressing Curaçao art climate’.
UniArte has a monthly flash residency: in a highly compressed timeframe of one week, an exhibition is built up, exhibited and taken down again. The theme of this month’s flash residency is ‘Woman’.
A mix of accomplished and starting male, visual artists were invited to participate. According to UniArte, in this exhibition, six male artists show art works on what goes on in their minds: women.
Come and see their works and what their take is on women. Garrick Marchena, Pito Polo, Ashley Mauricia, Pablo Diaz, Arnold J. Bakker and Omar Sling all give us their personal insight on the subject.
