Alma Blou 10 years in Habaai
April 18, 2016: Gallery Alma Blou commemorates 10 years in Landhuis Habaai.
In 2005 Herman and Lusette Verboom started looking for a new location for their business. It had to be large enough to house the gallery, giftshop and framing studio. With financial support of the Maduro Curiel’s Bank N.V., faith in their business concept and self confidence, the couple managed to buy the monumental plantation house at Habaai.
Friends and artists contributed in the cleaning, renovation and painting of the building, which for years had been left unused and neglected. The gallery officially opened its doors in the new location, in April 2006.
Not wanting this anniversary to pass unnoticed, Mr. and Mrs. Verboom invited all their loyal friends, guests artists and clients, to celebrate together and raise a toast in honor of this milestone.
Gallery Alma Blou announces their plan for a major art exhibition to be held later in 2016, with all artists associated with the gallery.
Curaçao Art offers their heartfelt congratulations to Herman and Lusette Verboom in reaching this significant milestone in the existence of Gallery Alma Blou and hope they will carry on for many years to come.
