Opening: Saturday, March 12, 2022.
10 AM till 5 PM
Zanolino Gallery & Atelier
In 2021 Philippe’s son Giovani Zanolino opened his own art gallery in the newly renovated monument in Pietermaai, on the corner of Theaterstraat and Pietermaaiweg.
Philippe Zanolino (France, 1960), has been living and working in Curaçao since 1986. His first exhibition in Curaçao took place in 1987, in Gallery ’86. His last solo exhibition, ‘What’s in a name’ was held at Gallery Alma Blou in 2018.
Philippe always stores his paintings in rolls. He groups the paintings and then carefully rolls them up together in a bunch, before putting them away. He allots each roll an unique number and has a list of every single painting in each roll.
Philippe recently unrolled the 12th roll, that had been in storage for 20 years. In this new exhibition the art treasures from this roll will for the first time be revealed to the public. The selection is described as “paintings from a heroic time in Philippe’s life”.
In a addition to his canvas paintings there will also be a new series of Philippe’s special army of Love Warriors: Small sculptures with a big Heart.
The exhibition will remain for 4 weeks. Click here for the blog: Philippe Zanolino: Art opens the Heart.
