About ‘Sorry, …’
The exhibition is titled ‘Sorry, …’ and is based on the apology made by the Dutch Prime Minister, Mr. Mark Rutte, on December 19, 2022. Landhuis Bloemhof explains that in his apology, the Prime Minister acknowledged the Dutch government’s role in the slave trade that deeply impacted Curaçao and other countries. The ‘Sorry, …’ exhibition aims to allow visitors to explore different artists’ perspectives on the apology and its significance through various art forms. The artworks reveal the complex and emotional layers surrounding this historical event, promoting dialogue and understanding.
