7.1 Giovanni Abath and Carlos Better
Landhuis Bloemhof is pleased to present
7.1 & Better
a new exhibition featuring metal sculptures by 7.1 Giovanni Abath and acrylic paintings by Carlos Better.
Opening: Friday, August 14, 2026,
Time: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Location: Landhuis Bloemhof.
Both artists will be present at the opening to introduce their latest bodies of work and share insights into their creative processes.
The exhibition 7.1 & Better runs until September 26, 2026.
Bringing together two distinctive voices from Curaçao’s contemporary art scene, the exhibition highlights years of exploration, craftsmanship, and artistic evolution.
Color and metal
Although working in different media, Carlos Better and 7.1 Giovanni Abath share a similar approach to creativity: both have developed highly personal artistic languages through curiosity, persistence, and continuous exploration. As self-taught artists, they followed independent paths, allowing experimentation and experience to shape their work.
Better’s fluid acrylic paintings and 7.1’s powerful metal sculptures demonstrate how different materials can become vehicles for expression. Better’s poured-color technique creates movement, atmosphere, and emotion, while 7.1’s transforms iron and reclaimed materials into sculptures that carry a sense of history, strength, and resilience.
Two unique perspectives
Together, their work explores identity, place, and personal experience, revealing two unique perspectives connected by a shared commitment to discovery and authenticity.
The exhibition 7.1 & Better runs until September 26, 2026.
