Capricorne in Cuba International Film Festival
Curaçao, October 31, 2013.
The Documentary on Curaçao visual artist J.M. Capricorne ‘De Wonderboom’ (The Enchanted Tree) by Tanja Fraai and Mike Ho-Sam-Sooi has been selected to be shown at the 35th edition of the Cuban film festival Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano as part of the program ‘Arte y Tradición’ (Art and Tradition).
The film festival takes place on December 5 – 15, 2013, in Cuba.

José Maria Capricorne
José Maria Capricorne (1932) was born in Curaçao but at present lives in the Netherlands. His next exhibition in the Netherlands will be in Apeldoorn at the art gallery En Passant, from November 10 till December 10, 2013.
He is represented in Curaçao by Gallery Alma Blou in Landhuis Habaai. His last exhibition here took place in April 2013.
Tanja Fraai
Producer Tanja Fraai is delighted with the showing of ‘The Wonderboom’ at the international Cuban film festival. She calls it “A special chance for Capricorne to share his work and vision with the people in Cuba. At the same time it will also attract the attention to Curaçao as a Caribbean community undergoing an interesting emancipation process”.
‘The Wonderboom’ premiered in Curaçao on April 7, 2013 at the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam.
