Rien te Hennepe came to Curaçao in 2002, together with his wife Marjon Wegman. Here Rien discovered the stones of the mountain De Tafelberg, which are used by a select group of local sculptors. Rien became so intrigued by the colors and structures of the stones that he too started sculpting. In the meantime he has held several exhibitions (also together with Marjon Wegman) and has done a few amazing projects, like in 2006 when Rien organized a sculpting course for the visually handicapped clients of Fundashon Pro Bista.
Marjon Wegman was born in Curaçao. She is well known in Curaçao for her miniature drawings of monumental houses and buildings on leaves of the local grape-tree. Recently she was involved with the exhibition ‘Talento Skondi’ at the gallery of Landhuis Bloemhof.
