
IBB Year’s End Exhibition
Curaçao, December 9, 2013.
On Saturday, December 14, 2013, Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) is opening a new exhibition with works from the Artist in Residence-programs and IBB students. Opening at 7 PM.
Nick Whittle (England, 1953) is an artist in residence at IBB from Barbados. In November 2013 he did a artist talk in Landhuis Bloemhof on the progress of his project ‘This is not my Land’. He is now rounding up his IBB-residency with this final presentation.
Rieneke de Vries (Netherlands, 1981) is an artist in residence from the Netherlands. She will be showing her recent series ‘Monumenten van Persoonlijke Twijfel’ (Monuments of personal doubt), based the current workshop she gave to the students at IBB. In this workshop Rieneke de Vries, together with the students, investigated the question ‘What image makes a plausible statement about life on an island?’.
.Marvi Johanna Franco Zapata, ex-IBB student and now back as a teacher, will be exhibiting artworks form the recent workshop at E Fabrica.
The animations students made with Barbadian artist Versia Harris will also be shown during the evening.
