Façades can be visited only on September 24 and 25.

Het Punt, located in the former Academy Hotel in Punda, offers art residencies for artists, musicians, dancers, photographers and other professionals. Participating visual artists have the opportunity to present their work at Zanolino Gallery. Carola van der Molen and Christi Wijnen stayed at Het Punt during September, where they worked undisturbed and inspired by the island. Façades is the final presentation of Christi and Carola’s art residency.

Christi Wijnen
Christi Wijnen is more than a photographer; she is a documentary storyteller, a connector, and a voice for those who are often not heard. She prefers to photograph her subjects in their own familiar environment. 

Her work is deeply rooted in her own experiences. She has a strong urge to seek connection with her subjects and to be able to give something with her photos; “making photographs is my gift to people”, says Christi.
 In June 2024, she published Endless Summer, a personal story about her years on Curaçao. These analog images are supplemented with more recent digital work.

Carola van der Molen
Carola van der Molen developed a passion for art at a young age and followed the teacher training course in drawing. After graduating, she worked abroad on creative projects and later returned to the Netherlands.

During her stay on Curaçao, Carola was inspired by the local architecture, especially the different architectural styles that exist side by side. These styles reflect not only the varied influences that have shaped the island over the years but also the cultural diversity of the current population. To express this in her work, Carola creates pieces from different perspectives, utilizing various materials to capture the richness of these influences.

The pop-up exhibition Façades can be visited at Zanolino Gallery only on September 24 and 25 from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00.
