Join Landhuis Bloemhof for their first exhibition of 2017 called Roots, by amateur stone sculptor Maghalie George. After her debut in 2015, she is back with new work.
The opening, performed by Duncan Campbell, takes place on Wednesday, January 18, at 7:30PM at Landhuis Bloemhof. This time Maghalie searched for stones not only at the Tafelberg, but also at Tera Corá and some of the beaches. To Maghalie the stone speaks its own tale and she just follows what happens after she starts to work on them: “I prefer to keep the original form of the stones as much as possible and I also like to leave a part rough and untouched. For me, no specific themes, no distinct style but lots of ‘just let it happen’ and not much thinking”.
Landhuis Bloemhof invites you to this special event and hopes this stone-story experience wil ‘get’ you.
