Dolf Henkes in Curaçao

The Stichting Henkes and the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed, together with The Curaçao Museum, Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) and the Maritime Museum Curaçao are organizing:

Henkes in Curaçao

At the end of 1945 the Dutch painter Dolf Henkes (Rotterdam, 1903-1989), set out for Curaçao. He travelled by boat and his stay on the island deeply influenced his work. He left a distinct footprint behind in Curaçao with two monumental murals executed in the chapel of the Sint Elisabeth Hospital (SEHOS) and at Hato International Airport.

For the first time since his departure a large number of his paintings will travel to Curaçao to be exhibited on the island. The paintings will be shown on three different locations: The Curaçao Museum, Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) and The Maritime Museum Curaçao.
