Curacao in Atlantic World Art Fair 2022
Curacao’s art gallery ‘Gallery Alma Blou’ announces they are “once again proudly participating in the annual Atlantic World Art Fair 2022 on Artsy”. AWAF is an online event focused on contemporary art makers in the Caribbean, the Atlantic Islands, and the region’s wider diasporas.
The event takes place from April 20 – May 5, 2022.
This year, 12 galleries are participating in the art fair, representing national artists from Aruba, Azores, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, St. Maarten, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, US Virgin Islands, and their diasporas.
Gallery Alma Blou states that their collection for this edition is made up of works created by artists who could not be more different. The gallery strives to bring an accurate representation of the island’s captivating and unique diversity.
Participating artists from Curaçao are: Ailsa Anastatia, Carlos Blaaker, Lies Bruens, Capricorne and Timothy Voges.
Two of the artists representing Curacao, were selected by curators Rose Gordon-Wallace and Albertine Kopp as their ‘Curator’s Choice’, amongst the 350 artworks: Ailsa Anastatia & Lies Bruens.
