Foundation Arte ’99: two new exhibitions

This Sunday, June 8, 2014, foundation Arte ’99 is opening two new exhibitions commemorating 150 years of Abolition of Slavery in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
A photo exhibition on the Queen Emma Bridge:
Swinging through History – Riba Kadansa di Historia
A group exhibition with paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations: Tula 2.0

The program starts at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Governor’s Palace in Punda,
continues over the Queen Emma Bridge and Brionplein,
ending at the Renaissance Mall in the Rif Fort.
Swinging through History – Riba Kadansa di Historia
The exhibition of photographs Swinging through History is curated by Gallery Alma Blou and shows work by photographers Prince Victor and Diana Blok.
Tula 2.0
The group exhibition Tula 2.0 is organized by Mon Art Gallery and features work by the following visual artists: Ailsa Anastatia, Herman van Bergen, Carlos Blaaker, Annemieke Dicke, Marcel van Duijneveldt, Ariadne Faries, Jan Gilbert, René Guillot, Ria Houwen, Ans Mezas-Hummelink, Ellen Spijkstra, Sinaya Wolfert, Giovani Zanolino and Philippe Zanolino. Curaçao visual artist Tony Monsanto passed away last February, but three of his art works will be part of the show.
The event remains till July 30, 2014.

The Foundation Fundashon Arte ’99 pa libertat organizes art events in 2013 and 2014 to commemorate in Curaçao, the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in the Dutch Kingdom.
